Is A Healthy Energy Drink More Beneficial?

Taking a high energy drink loaded with sugar, is quite different from taking a healthy energy drink.  Before you reach for that next can of drink with lots of suagar, perhaps you’d like to think about the health consequences of drinking a lot of energy drinks all in one day.

While some energy drinks are superb energy boosters and can give you immediate energy, they are not supposed to be drunk all day like water! Energy drinks are very common these days and it is accepted that once you feel a little low in your energy level, you just go out and drink some kind of energy drink. This tactic is not good because certain ingredients in these drinks cause the energy to only last a short time, then it goes away leaving you with less energy than before. You will notice this is what coffee and tea does also.

So when is it better to take energy drinks?

Reports and research show that many people are inclined to take a high energy drink first thing in the morning, even before their breakfast. Sadly, because the side effects are not always immediately noticeable, many think they can get away with this or just simply believe that there are no side effects. If this energy drink were also a nutritional supplement, then it wouldn’t matter if it was taken before breakfast. It is far better to have an energy drink after you have had breakfast and require some form of energy boost to get you by. Therefore, drinking an energy drink that’s loaded with extra caffeine and sugar, first thing in the morning could give you repeated bouts of dizziness, increased pulse rate -also known as tachycardia- continual headaches, insomnia and restlessness.

Why Are Caffeine and Sugar Loaded Energy Drinks Capable of Causing Such Side Effects?

The cause for the near immediate boost that you get from taking energy drinks is a result of the high content of both sugar and caffeine. While these components do increase energy levels for a short time, they are not the best way to increase your energy levels on a consistent basis. If you have a heart condition or a minor problem with nerves, then caffeine is not meant for you. The same applies to those who are suffering from diabetes; the sugar content existing in non healthy energy drinks is a definite no-no. As an alternative, you could take a healthy energy drink which is really a nutritional supplement with an energy blend.

A high energy drink is common for body builders and physical fitness fanatics that use them to increase their stamina and improve their performance while they are training. However, many teenagers take these drinks on a daily basis thus making them accountable for the teenagers’ hyperactivity and restlessness. It is not advisable to have teenagers who are not into high energy sports activities take a high energy drink, otherwise the possibilities involved are that the kids become violent and suffer what is known as “toxic jock” syndromes as research has shown.

There are some healthy energy drinks which are safe for anyone, so we recommend that you do some research on these and see what ingredients they contain. Even a healthy energy drink should be taken in limited amounts, usually no more than three cans a day, so check the recommendations on the can before drinking it.
